BetWright Crossbar Challenge Ends Season With £10,000 Winner at Leyton Orient

A Leyton Orient supporter walked away with a £10,000 prize after landing a dramatic crossbar challenge at the club’s final League One match of the season.

Georgia Wallis hit the target during the half-time BetWright Bangers N’ Cash Crossbar Challenge as Orient drew 2-2 with Burton Albion on 2 May, a result that secured the club’s League One status for another season.

The challenge, held throughout the 2025/26 campaign at the BetWright Stadium, gave selected fans one shot from the penalty spot to strike the crossbar. Participants who missed their first effort could choose one of three cards, with one card awarding a second attempt and the others offering smaller consolation prizes.

Wallis became the second winner of the season after a long run of unsuccessful attempts following Graham Pringle’s £15,000 win earlier in January. BetWright said the jackpot had climbed steadily after each home game without a winner, starting at £3,000 at the beginning of the season and increasing by £1,000 per fixture. Following Pringle’s victory, the fund reset to £1,000 before building back up to £10,000 by the final home match.

Speaking after the win, Wallis said she felt confident the moment she struck the ball. She also revealed that her father had entered the competition regularly throughout the season before finally passing the opportunity to her on the last matchday.

BetWright representative Yarry Troshchey said the company had seen several near-misses since the January winner and praised Wallis for handling the pressure of the season’s final opportunity.

The crossbar challenge forms part of BetWright’s wider partnership with Leyton Orient F.C.. The operator, launched in late 2024 by Onyx Gaming Limited, secured naming rights for Brisbane Road in 2025 under a two-year sponsorship agreement.
