A new gambling wellbeing app called GamScore is set to launch in the UK in October, aiming to help both players and operators manage compliance requirements more smoothly across regulated betting platforms.
The app was created by former Betfair and Rewards4Racing executive Josh Apiafi together with Phill Adams, founder of the UKGC-licensed esports betting operator Punt. GamScore is designed to give users real-time insights into their gambling activity while identifying potential signs of risky behaviour through AI-driven behavioural analysis.
According to the developers, the platform will provide live updates several times a day and deliver educational prompts intended to help users better understand their gambling habits. The app will also highlight the risks linked to offshore and black-market gambling sites.
Future versions of GamScore are expected to include tools that allow players to monitor compliance requirements across multiple gambling operators. The idea is to help customers stay up to date with requested verification documents and other regulatory checks without creating additional friction that could push users toward unlicensed operators.
The company said the product responds to calls from the UK Gambling Commission for technology-based solutions that improve consumer protection while supporting the long-term sustainability of the regulated gambling sector.
Apiafi said the app could offer operators a more user-controlled alternative to traditional affordability and financial risk checks, which have faced criticism from parts of the industry and some bettors during ongoing UK regulatory discussions.
