Novig Bolsters Market Integrity with Eventus Surveillance Platform Ahead of National Expansion

Sports prediction market operator Novig has partnered with Eventus to deploy the company’s Validus trade surveillance platform as it prepares to launch its federally regulated prediction market exchange across the United States.

The move follows Novig’s recent approval by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as a Designated Contract Market (DCM), allowing the company to operate under a single federal regulatory framework rather than relying on state-by-state licensing. The nationwide rollout is expected to begin later this summer.

The Validus platform will provide real-time and post-trade monitoring designed to identify potential market manipulation and support regulatory compliance. Novig selected the system for its ability to adapt surveillance models to the unique characteristics of prediction markets, including discrete event outcomes, different liquidity patterns and specialized trading behavior.

Among the platform’s key capabilities are customizable detection tools for practices such as spoofing, layering and wash trading, as well as technology to identify coordinated activity across multiple accounts and markets. The system also includes investigation workflows, audit trails and scalable infrastructure intended to support Novig’s future growth without requiring the company to build its own surveillance framework from scratch.

Novig said it views trade surveillance as a core component of maintaining market confidence rather than simply a compliance requirement. The company believes prediction markets require purpose-built oversight tools instead of systems originally developed for equities or futures trading, while also ensuring alignment with CFTC expectations as the exchange expands.

Eventus, which provides surveillance and financial risk technology for regulated trading venues worldwide, said its platform’s flexibility and experience supporting regulated exchanges were important factors in the partnership. The company added that seamless integration was especially valuable for Novig’s API-first exchange model.
