Resorts World Launches $250,000 Grant Initiative to Support New York Community Groups

Resorts World is strengthening its community investment efforts with a $250,000 donation campaign that will provide funding to 25 nonprofit organizations across New York State.

The initiative, called “A Day of Giving,” is being carried out through the company’s RW Gives program and was created to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. Selected nonprofits will each receive a $10,000 grant to support their work in local communities.

The funding will be distributed among organizations connected to the regions served by Resorts World’s three New York properties: Resorts World New York City, Resorts World Hudson Valley, and Resorts World Catskills. Fifteen groups from the New York City area will receive a total of $150,000, while five organizations from the Hudson Valley and five from the Catskills region will each share $50,000.

The company opened applications to nonprofit groups, community organizations, youth programs, cultural institutions, and charities between June 15 and June 29. More than 400 organizations applied, with the final recipients chosen through a random drawing held on July 7 at Resorts World Catskills.

Meghan Taylor, Resorts World’s Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Relations, said the program reflects the company’s commitment to supporting organizations that improve the lives of New Yorkers.

The latest campaign continues Resorts World’s wider community engagement efforts. Since 2011, the RW Gives program has contributed more than $3 million to over 200 local organizations, while the company also operates an employee donation matching program.

Resorts World said the grants are designed to recognize groups that create a positive impact in their communities and continue the company’s long-term support for local initiatives across New York.
