Wolverhampton Wanderers are exploring the possibility of bringing former fan favourite Raul Jimenez back to Molineux, with talks underway over a potential deal for the experienced Mexican striker.
Jimenez, 35, became a free agent this summer after leaving Fulham at the end of his contract. Wolves are understood to be assessing the opportunity as they strengthen their squad ahead of the new Premier League season following promotion.
The Mexico international remains one of the most popular figures in the club’s recent history. After initially arriving on loan from Benfica in 2018, he quickly established himself as Wolves’ leading striker before making the move permanent. Over five seasons, Jimenez scored 57 goals in 166 appearances, helping the club secure consecutive seventh-place Premier League finishes, reach the FA Cup semi-finals and advance to the Europa League quarter-finals.
His time at Wolves was dramatically affected by the serious head injury he suffered in a collision with Arsenal defender David Luiz in November 2020. Despite returning to action after surgery and a lengthy recovery, he struggled to consistently rediscover the form that had made him one of the Premier League’s most effective forwards.
Jimenez left Wolves in 2023 to join Fulham, where he spent three seasons and continued to provide valuable experience and goals. Now available on a free transfer, he has attracted interest from several clubs as he considers the next step in his career.
