Chelsea Duo Palmer and Joao Pedro Make Surprise Cameo in Madonna’s New Film

Chelsea forwards Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro have taken an unexpected step into the entertainment world after appearing in a promotional film for Madonna’s upcoming album.

The pair feature in Confessions II – The Film, a 14-minute project released by the global pop icon as part of the launch campaign for her new record. Madonna premiered the film at the Tribeca Festival in New York on Friday before making it available on her YouTube channel earlier this week.

Palmer and Joao Pedro appear midway through the production in a brief but memorable scene in which Madonna approaches them while they are standing at a urinal. The film also includes a cameo from award-winning British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, adding further star power to the project.

The appearance comes during a summer in which both footballers were absent from international duty. Palmer was left out of England’s 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup after a campaign disrupted by injuries, while Joao Pedro failed to earn a place in Brazil’s squad despite enjoying an impressive debut season at Chelsea.

The Brazilian forward scored 20 goals in all competitions during his first year at Stamford Bridge, but that was not enough to secure selection for football’s biggest tournament.

Madonna’s connection with Chelsea has become increasingly visible in recent years. The seven-time Grammy Award winner is a regular attendee at both men’s and women’s matches and was present at Stamford Bridge in October when Chelsea defeated Liverpool 2-1 in the Premier League.

She also played a role in the club’s recent marketing activities. Last month, Madonna joined British influencer Gymskin during a Twitch livestream that helped unveil Chelsea’s new home kit for the 2026-27 season.

The singer’s latest album, Confessions On A Dance Floor: Part II, is scheduled for release on 3 July, with the promotional film already generating attention thanks to its blend of music, cinema and unexpected football cameos.
