Liverpool Turn Down Inter Milan’s Opening Bid for Curtis Jones

Liverpool have rejected a verbal offer worth €25 million (£21.7 million) from Inter Milan for midfielder Curtis Jones, with the Premier League club valuing the player significantly higher.

The Reds are understood to rate Jones at around £35 million and are not prepared to approve a transfer below that figure, despite the midfielder entering the final year of his contract at Anfield.

Inter’s interest in the 25-year-old is not new. The Serie A side explored a deal during the January transfer window, proposing an initial loan move with an option to make the transfer permanent. Liverpool declined that approach and have now turned down the latest offer as well.

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio recently acknowledged the club’s admiration for Jones, confirming they are closely monitoring the situation and waiting to see how developments unfold.

Speculation over a potential move has also been fuelled by comments from former Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa, who revealed that Jones had asked him about life in Italy.

A product of Liverpool’s academy, Jones joined the club at the age of nine and progressed through the youth ranks before signing his first professional contract in 2018. He has since become a regular member of the first-team squad and remains highly valued by the club despite ongoing transfer interest.
