MGM Resorts International delivered a solid second quarter of 2026, reporting higher revenue and sharply improved profitability as strong performance on the Las Vegas Strip and continued expansion of its digital operations helped offset softer results from some regional properties.
The casino and hospitality giant generated $4.45 billion in revenue during the quarter, a 1% increase from the same period last year and slightly ahead of market expectations. Net income climbed to $292.4 million, up significantly from $49 million a year earlier, while adjusted earnings also exceeded analyst forecasts.
Las Vegas remained MGM’s strongest market, with Strip resorts producing $2.2 billion in revenue, up 3% year-over-year. The company credited healthy convention attendance, corporate travel and continued demand for premium entertainment and hospitality experiences for the improvement. Executives also pointed to stronger airline traffic into Las Vegas as another positive factor supporting visitation.
Digital operations continued to be another major growth engine. MGM Digital posted approximately 20% year-over-year revenue growth, reflecting the company’s ongoing investment in online gaming and technology-driven offerings. Meanwhile, BetMGM, MGM’s joint venture with Entain, reported $711 million in second-quarter revenue, with online casino revenue rising 8% to $483 million and adjusted EBITDA reaching $74 million, highlighting continued profitability despite a competitive North American market.
MGM China maintained stable quarterly revenue of roughly $1.1 billion, while the company’s regional U.S. casino portfolio recorded a modest decline, reflecting mixed consumer spending trends outside its flagship Las Vegas operations.
President and CEO Bill Hornbuckle said the company’s strategy continues to focus on maximizing the strength of its integrated resort business while expanding digital gaming opportunities. MGM believes its convention calendar, entertainment offerings and omnichannel gaming strategy position the business well for the remainder of 2026.
Alongside its earnings release, MGM also confirmed that an independent committee is reviewing a $12.4 billion takeover proposal from Barry Diller’s People Inc., with company leadership saying the offer remains under evaluation.
