Arsenal have finalised the signing of England international Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace in a deal worth up to £60m.
The 28-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a four-year contract with the Gunners, becoming another major addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad as the club continues its push for major trophies.
The agreement includes an initial £55m payment, with a further £5m possible through performance-related add-ons.
Eze leaves Palace after six years at Selhurst Park, where he became one of the club’s standout players. He joined from Queens Park Rangers in 2020 and went on to make more than 160 appearances, scoring 40 goals.
His final season with Palace proved to be his most memorable. Eze scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester City, securing the Eagles’ first major trophy in their history. He also helped the club lift the Community Shield before completing his move across London.
Arsenal had followed Eze for several years and accelerated their interest after seeking more attacking options. His ability to play as a number 10 or from wide positions is expected to give Arteta greater flexibility in the final third.
The transfer marks a return to familiar surroundings for Eze, who spent time in Arsenal’s academy as a youngster before being released at the age of 13.
He becomes one of Arsenal’s biggest signings of the summer as the club looks to strengthen after another Premier League title challenge. The move also adds further competition in attacking areas alongside players such as Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli.
Eze’s performances at club level have also made him a regular part of the England squad, and he will now look to continue his rise at the Emirates Stadium.
