Camilo Duran continued his impressive scoring run as Celtic swept aside Aberdeen 3-0 to preserve their flawless start to the Scottish Premiership season.
Martin O’Neill’s side effectively settled the contest before half-time, scoring three times in a dominant opening 45 minutes and avoiding the late tension that had accompanied their previous victory over Falkirk.
Duran opened the scoring with a superb effort from the edge of the penalty area. His powerful strike crashed off the underside of the crossbar before bouncing over the line, taking his tally to six goals in his last seven appearances.
Celtic kept Aberdeen under sustained pressure, with Haissem Hassan repeatedly threatening from wide areas. After beating Lewis Mayo, Hassan delivered another dangerous ball towards the far post, where Duran helped it into the path of Benjamin Nygren. The midfielder converted with a low finish that found its way beyond goalkeeper Marius Muller.
Aberdeen came closest to responding when Gavin Molloy sent a header against the Celtic crossbar, but the visitors were punished almost immediately.
Only seconds later, Celtic launched a rapid counterattack. Duran produced a perfectly timed pass to release Yang Hyun-jun, who stayed composed and guided his finish into the bottom-left corner to make it 3-0.
The result leaves Celtic at the top of the Premiership with four victories from their opening four matches, while Aberdeen remain near the bottom end of the standings after another difficult outing.
