Hull City midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath has been involved in a road accident near the club’s training base in East Yorkshire, with no injuries reported.
The 23-year-old’s black Mercedes overturned on Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham on Friday morning. Images from the scene showed the vehicle lying on its side, while a nearby resident said another parked car had also been damaged.
Hull City confirmed it was aware of photographs circulating online and said nobody was hurt in the incident.
Humberside Police said emergency services were called to the scene at around 08:30 GMT.
The crash happened only weeks after Gourna-Douath’s teammate Sorba Thomas was involved in a separate accident on the same road in September.
The latest incident has renewed concern among people living in the area about traffic safety near the training ground. Local resident Paul Nickerson said he reached the scene shortly after hearing the crash and expressed concern because his wife and children had been walking along the road shortly beforehand.
Another resident, Tracey Evans, said she has campaigned for the speed limit on Millhouse Woods Lane to be reduced for roughly a decade.
She said the road is particularly busy around school hours, when children and parents are regularly walking through the area, and called for additional safety measures to reduce the risk of a more serious incident in future.
