Lewis Hamilton has made it clear he has no plans to step away from Formula 1 anytime soon, insisting he still sees several years ahead of him in the sport despite ongoing speculation about retirement.
Speaking during the Canadian Grand Prix weekend in Montreal, the seven-time world champion pushed back strongly against suggestions that his difficult start with Scuderia Ferrari could lead to an early exit from F1. Hamilton said he remains fully committed to the team and is already thinking long term about what can be achieved together.
The British driver, who joined Ferrari this season after leaving Mercedes, admitted results have not matched expectations so far. Ferrari have struggled to consistently challenge at the front, while Hamilton is still adapting to a new car and environment after more than a decade with Mercedes.
Even so, Hamilton said criticism and doubts about his future only motivate him further. He stressed that he is determined to keep racing and suggested he could remain on the grid for at least several more years.
The 40-year-old also spoke about the importance of building something lasting with Ferrari, describing the move as a major personal and professional challenge. He added that success with the Italian team would mean even more because of the history and expectations surrounding Ferrari in Formula 1.
Hamilton’s comments come after weeks of growing debate over his form and Ferrari’s inconsistent performances during the 2026 season. Despite the pressure, he insisted he is “going nowhere” and told critics to get used to seeing him around for the long term.
