Liverpool are moving closer to completing a major deal for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Bradley Barcola, with the transfer expected to cost more than £100m.
Negotiations between the clubs have accelerated over the past two days, and the remaining details are now being worked through before a final agreement can be reached.
PSG had initially placed a valuation of around £140m on the 23-year-old, but Liverpool are expected to secure him for a lower overall package. The guaranteed portion of the deal is set to be at least £100m, with performance-related add-ons potentially increasing the final fee.
Barcola has emerged as one of Liverpool’s leading attacking targets as the club continues to strengthen its forward line. He was part of France’s squad at this summer’s World Cup and has developed into one of PSG’s most versatile attacking options.
Although naturally right-footed, Barcola is most comfortable operating from the left wing, where he can drive inside onto his stronger foot. He is also capable of playing from the right or in a central attacking role, giving Liverpool additional flexibility across the front line.
The France international joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 in a move reported to be worth about £38.5m. Since then, he has accumulated a major collection of honours in Paris, including three Ligue 1 titles and two Champions League trophies.
Barcola has also won the Coupe de France twice, along with the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup, becoming an important part of PSG’s most successful period in European competition.
If the transfer is completed as expected, it would represent another significant investment by Liverpool and make Barcola one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history.
