Manchester United have launched a sale of preserved sections of the Old Trafford pitch, offering supporters a piece of the club’s historic playing surface for £125.
The first collection has already sold out, with the initiative announced on the same day United revealed that their total debt remains above £1bn.
The turf was removed during a major pitch renovation this summer, when Old Trafford’s playing surface was stripped back to its foundations for the first time in 14 years.
Rather than disposing of all the old grass, the club preserved selected sections and divided them into 7x7cm pieces. Each piece is displayed inside a glass cube, presented in a black case as a collectible for supporters.
The club is marketing the souvenirs as keepsakes connected to memorable matches and historic moments at Old Trafford.
The sale comes alongside United’s latest financial results, which showed record revenue of £677.6m and an operating profit of £22.6m for the 2025-26 financial year. However, the club still recorded a £43m pre-tax loss.
United also confirmed that £63.5m had been spent acquiring land for their proposed new stadium, a project expected to cost more than £2bn.
With plans for a new home progressing, the preserved turf offers supporters an opportunity to own a physical piece of Old Trafford’s history.
