Musiala Diagnosed With Neurological Condition After Two Bayern Collapses

Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala has revealed that he is receiving medical treatment for a neurological condition after collapsing during two matches within four days.

The 23-year-old required attention during Bayern’s 4-2 friendly win against Heidenheim on Tuesday, just six minutes after entering the game as a substitute. Musiala appeared disoriented on the pitch before being assisted off by medical staff.

It was the second similar incident in quick succession. Musiala had also collapsed during Bayern’s 3-1 friendly victory over RB Leipzig in Munich on Saturday.

Following the latest episode, the Germany international confirmed that doctors had identified the cause as short, temporary absence seizures linked to a neurological dysfunction. He said the condition is treatable and that the episodes can explain what happened in both matches.

Musiala added that he remains positive about his recovery and is receiving specialist care, with support from Bayern, his family and those close to him.

Bayern were already aware of the midfielder’s medical situation before Tuesday’s match. Sporting director Max Eberl said after the game that Musiala was stable and would address the issue himself.

The health concern comes after Musiala endured a difficult previous season. He spent the opening six months on the sidelines after suffering a broken ankle at the 2025 Club World Cup.

He returned during the second half of the campaign and later featured prominently for Germany at the 2026 World Cup, starting three of the national team’s four matches.
