Casino technology supplier Zitro has strengthened its presence in Colombia after launching its first Wide Area Progressive (WAP) network in partnership with operator Opalsa. The new system, branded “Red Millonaria,” connects slot machines across multiple casino venues and introduces a shared progressive jackpot designed to grow simultaneously between participating locations.
The launch includes 24 linked gaming machines installed at six Opalsa-operated venues in Santander de Quilichao, Pasto, Palmira, Buenaventura and Popayán. Players at any of the connected casinos can compete for the same Grand Mega jackpot, a feature aimed at increasing engagement and attracting higher player traffic across the network.
The rollout uses Zitro’s CONCEPT cabinet technology together with the supplier’s King Fu Frog slot game, one of the company’s better-known titles in the Latin American market. Zitro said the WAP configuration allows operators to add progressive jackpot functionality directly into their current gaming floor setup without requiring a separate or dedicated jackpot system. The company believes this lowers operational barriers for casino groups looking to introduce larger linked prizes.
According to Zitro, the Colombian deployment represents an important commercial step as the supplier continues expanding its footprint across regulated Latin American jurisdictions. The company has been increasing its regional activity through new product launches, casino partnerships and localized gaming solutions tailored to operators in markets such as Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Argentina.
Alejandra Burato, Zitro’s regional director for Latin America, described the launch as a major achievement for the company’s Colombian operations. She noted that the project had been in development for several months and highlighted the collaboration between Zitro and Opalsa teams during the implementation process.
Burato said the supplier sees strong potential for linked progressive products in Colombia, particularly as operators continue searching for new ways to differentiate gaming floors and offer larger prize pools to players.
Opalsa General Manager Carlos Palacios also welcomed the partnership, saying the company expects the network to strengthen its market positioning in the regions where it operates. He added that working with an internationally recognized supplier such as Zitro would help enhance the entertainment experience for customers while supporting the operator’s long-term growth plans.
The launch comes as Colombia remains one of the most established regulated gambling markets in Latin America, with casino operators increasingly investing in modern slot products, connected gaming systems and technology upgrades aimed at boosting player retention and revenue performance.
