Genius Sports Expands Into Prediction Markets With Polymarket and Kalshi Deals

Genius Sports has entered the rapidly expanding prediction markets sector through separate agreements with Polymarket and Kalshi, giving two of the largest event-contract platforms access to official sports data, integrity services and additional media capabilities.

The deals, announced on August 4 and August 5 respectively, deepen Genius Sports’ involvement in a market that is increasingly competing with traditional sportsbooks for sports-related trading activity in the United States.

Under its agreement with Polymarket, Genius Sports will provide official real-time data for selected competitions, with that information used to determine the results and settlement of sports prediction contracts offered through Polymarket’s regulated US platform.

The partnership goes beyond data distribution. Polymarket will also gain access to selected live sports streaming rights and league intellectual property controlled through Genius Sports’ existing agreements with rights holders.

One of the most significant elements is Serie A. Eligible Polymarket users in the US will be able to watch selected live matches while accessing related event contracts on the same sporting events. Genius Sports described the arrangement as a way to connect live viewing more closely with prediction-market activity.

Genius Sports will additionally support Polymarket through digital marketing services, including media properties belonging to Legend, the sports and gaming media technology business acquired by Genius Sports earlier in 2026.

Integrity monitoring is another major part of the agreement. Polymarket will participate in Genius Sports’ information-sharing systems, allowing professional leagues and governing bodies to gain greater visibility into trading associated with their competitions.

The framework is intended to make it easier to identify unusual activity and coordinate responses when potentially suspicious trading patterns appear.

Polymarket has significantly increased its sports presence over the past year, establishing official relationships across competitions including MLB, Liga MX, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Major League Soccer, the NHL and UFC.

Genius Sports had already been involved indirectly in some of that expansion. In June, it agreed to provide official data and integrity support for Polymarket’s US partnership with Liga MX. The data helps create and settle contracts linked to the Mexican league’s competitions.

Kalshi gains official football data

Genius Sports followed the Polymarket announcement a day later with a separate deal covering Kalshi.

The agreement gives Kalshi access to Genius Sports’ official real-time football data portfolio, including information from the English Premier League, Italy’s Serie A, Liga MX, Argentina’s Primera División and France’s Ligue 1.

That verified data will be used as the settlement source for applicable sports contracts, reducing the platforms’ dependence on unofficial or delayed information.

Kalshi will also join Genius Sports’ integrity information-sharing arrangements. The companies said those measures will provide greater visibility into market activity while allowing restrictions to be applied to certain types of contracts where appropriate.

Marketing and audience-development services are included as well, with Genius Sports again able to use its Legend media properties to support Kalshi’s customer growth.

The relationship builds on cooperation between the companies during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Genius Sports provided Kalshi with official data connected to the platform’s sponsorship agreement with the Argentine Football Association, helping settle prediction contracts involving Argentina while also supporting integrity monitoring.

Sports data companies move deeper into prediction markets

The two agreements establish Genius Sports as a direct infrastructure provider to the prediction-market industry rather than leaving its sports-data business concentrated around conventional betting operators.

Its move also increases competition with Sportradar, another major sports-data supplier that has already expanded into the sector.

Sportradar announced a multi-year agreement with Kalshi in June covering official sports data, live pricing information and integrity services for properties including MLB, NHL, MLS and UFC. The agreement also allows services to be supplied to brokers and market makers connected with Kalshi.

Prediction markets have become increasingly important to the wider US sports industry as platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket broaden the range of sports event contracts available to customers.

For data companies, the expansion creates another potential customer category alongside sportsbooks, broadcasters, leagues and media businesses.

Genius Sports already works with more than 1,000 sports organisations and commercial partners globally, including the NFL, Premier League, NCAA, DraftKings, FanDuel, bet365, CBS, NBC and ESPN. Its technology covers official data collection, video, analytics, advertising and fan-engagement products.

The Polymarket and Kalshi agreements now add prediction exchanges directly to that network, positioning Genius Sports to benefit from further growth in sports event contracts while supplying the official data and integrity infrastructure needed to operate those markets.
