Sportradar Agrees $170m Atrium Sports Sale to Teamworks Innovations

Sportradar has agreed to sell Atrium Sports, the coaching and scouting operation within its Synergy Sports business, to Teamworks Innovations for $170 million in cash as the sports technology group narrows its focus on betting, gaming and media.

The agreement covers 100% of the equity interests in Atrium Sports and is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. The purchase price may also be adjusted under the terms of the transaction.

Sportradar said the sale represents an accretive double-digit EBITDA multiple compared with the company’s current market valuation. Proceeds from the transaction are intended to strengthen its balance sheet and support its wider capital-allocation strategy.

Despite selling the coaching and scouting business, Sportradar will retain several technology assets and related revenue streams already integrated into its core products. These include automated video-production cameras, automated graphics technology, selected computer-vision capabilities and competition-management products.

The retained technology reflects Sportradar’s decision to separate the team-focused analytics operation from systems that continue to support its broader sports data, betting and media services.

Atrium Sports operates Sportradar’s Synergy Sports coaching and scouting platform, which provides analytics services primarily to baseball and basketball organisations. Sportradar originally moved to acquire Synergy Sports in 2021 to expand its position in US college and professional sports data, video analytics and automated sports technology.

Company filings show Sportradar completed the acquisition of Atrium Sports in May 2021, paying €183 million in cash alongside participation certificates connected to the transaction.

Chief executive Carsten Koerl said the divestment will simplify Sportradar’s operations while allowing the group to concentrate resources on its principal betting, gaming and media businesses. The company also expects Teamworks, whose business is centred on technology for teams and athletes, to provide Synergy’s coaching and scouting operation with a more specialised platform for its next stage of development.

Sportradar and Teamworks plan to coordinate the transition for customers, commercial partners and employees ahead of the expected completion later this year.
