Regulatory consultancy BetComply has expanded its compliance operation with three new specialist hires covering licensing, anti-money laundering, responsible gaming and technical regulation.
Tiago Scoda Botelho has joined the company as Regulatory and Licensing Compliance Officer. He brings a corporate law background alongside previous senior compliance positions at bet365 and 3 Oaks Gaming. In his new role, Botelho will assist BetComply clients with regulatory requirements, licence applications and ongoing operational compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
The consultancy has also appointed Renald Micallef as AML and Responsible Gaming Consultant. Micallef has more than 16 years of experience across anti-money laundering, risk management and responsible gambling roles in the betting and gaming sector. His previous employers include SlotsMillion and Dutch state-owned gambling operator Nederlandse Loterij.
Tina Singh becomes BetComply’s new Technical Compliance Consultant, bringing 17 years of experience within regulated international gaming markets. Her background spans both land-based gambling and iGaming, and she will focus on helping operators and suppliers address technical compliance obligations across different jurisdictions.
Together, the appointments broaden BetComply’s capacity in four key areas: licensing, AML controls, responsible gaming and technical compliance. The company provides outsourced regulatory support ranging from licence applications and compliance documentation to auditing, reporting and ongoing operational requirements.
Operations Director Loes Wetzer said the additional experience brought by Botelho, Micallef and Singh would strengthen the consultancy’s ability to provide commercially practical guidance as regulatory requirements continue to develop across gambling markets.
The recruitment comes as BetComply continues to support gaming businesses seeking approvals in regulated markets. Earlier in September, the consultancy helped Playbook Fusion secure a Swedish permit in less than two weeks and said it would continue assisting the games studio with regulatory approvals in additional jurisdictions. The companies had previously worked together on a UK Gambling Commission licence, Malta Gaming Authority recognition and ISMS certification for Playbook Fusion’s football product.
